Time for rebound!

Hi All,


It’s July, and only a month or so before festivities begin across India. Rains have arrived, albeit later than expected but with gusto! We are eager towards a normal monsoon, which will certainly bring inflation down. Oil prices remain high but turbulent times hopefully will subside in the next couple of months. Interestingly, as per June 2022 Scan-shot publication, Consumer Confidence Index continues to rise, and reached 75.9 points in May, as compared to 63.7 in January.


As per recent reports, 3% of the Indian population has taken booster shots. While the pandemic is hopefully heading out for good, it’s important to get those boosters in to all eligible and help weed out this menace!


Let’s all be safe and enjoy the lush greenery and weather that the monsoon brings across our lovely country!

Video streaming platforms return to splurge on outdoor advertising

Video streaming platforms are going big on outdoor advertising as people step out of home after close to two years of covid-induced lockdown. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5 and even regional players are looking at billboards, hoardings, metro stations and airports, to promote individual shows and movies or the platform itself. Media experts say most platforms are focusing on the top 10-12 cities for now but that there is great potential to penetrate further. Outdoor advertising spends for a major platform can touch up to ₹25 crore annually. Overall, major OTT players are expected to spend upwards of ₹400 crore annually on advertising and marketing, according to media industry estimates.

Speaking about the industry growth, Atul Shrivastava, Group CEO and ED, Laqshya Media Group said, “OTT platform category is emerging as one of the highest spenders for the OOH industry, along with erstwhile players like real estate, auto and mobile handsets. While OTT players were aggressive about outdoor advertising even before the pandemic, they have now returned in full force as they are fighting for time and viewer eyeballs yet again.”
